How to Import SKP to Blender

Jul 14, 2024

Hey everyone! Today I'm going to show you how to import SKP files into Blender. If you've been wondering how to bring your SketchUp designs into Blender for 3D modeling or animation, this is the perfect guide for you. Let's get started!

Step 1: Open Blender and make sure you have the SketchUp to Blender plugin installed. You can easily find this plugin by searching for it in Blender's add-ons section.

Step 2: Once the plugin is installed, go to File > Import > SketchUp (.skp). Browse to the location of your .skp file and select it.

Step 3: After you've selected the file, you'll be presented with some import options. You can choose to adjust the scale, import curves as bezier curves, and more. Make your selections and click 'Import.'

Step 4: That's it! Your SKP file should now be imported into Blender, ready for you to work with. You can now manipulate the 3D model, apply materials, add textures, and everything else you'd normally do in Blender.

Now you can seamlessly combine the capabilities of SketchUp with the powerful features of Blender. Importing SKP files has never been easier, and with this simple process, you can take your 3D projects to the next level!

I hope this guide has been helpful to you. Don't forget to give it a try and let me know how it goes in the comments. Happy modeling!
