How to Open an RVT File

Jul 16, 2024

Hey there, in this video, I'm going to show you how to open an RVT file in Revit. So, let's get started!

First things first, if you're not already in Revit, go ahead and open the software. Once you're in, look for the 'Open' option in the main menu or the 'Open' button on the toolbar. Click on it to proceed.

In the file dialog that appears, navigate to the location where your RVT file is saved. Select the file by clicking on it once, and then click on the 'Open' button at the bottom right of the dialog.

Alternatively, you can also drag and drop the RVT file directly into the Revit interface to open it. Just locate the file on your computer, click and hold on it, and then drag it into the Revit window. Release the mouse button to drop the file, and it will automatically open in Revit.

Once the RVT file is opened, you can start working on it right away. You'll have access to all the project data, including 3D models, floor plans, and other design elements.

And that's it! Opening an RVT file in Revit is as simple as that. Remember, Revit is a powerful tool for architectural, structural, and MEP design, and opening RVT files is just the beginning of what you can do with it.
