How to Texture OBJ in Smode

Sep 27, 2024

Hey guys, today I'm going to show you how to texture OBJ files in Smode for amazing 3D rendering. Let's get started!

Step 1: Import Your OBJ File

First, open Smode and import your OBJ file. You can do this by clicking on 'Import' and selecting your OBJ file from your computer.

Step 2: Create a New Material

Once your OBJ file is imported, it's time to create a new material for texturing. Go to the 'Materials' tab and click on 'New Material'. This will open up the material editor where you can customize the texture.

Step 3: Add Texture Maps

Now it's time to add texture maps to your material. You can add diffuse, specular, and normal maps to give your OBJ file a realistic and detailed texture. Simply click on the respective slots in the material editor and import your texture maps.

Step 4: Adjust UV Mapping

Next, you'll need to adjust the UV mapping of your OBJ file to ensure that the texture maps are applied correctly. You can do this by selecting the 'UV' tab and using the UV tools to scale, rotate, and move the UV mapping as needed.

Step 5: Apply the Material

Once you're satisfied with the texture maps and UV mapping, it's time to apply the material to your OBJ file. Simply drag and drop the material onto your OBJ file in the scene view to see the texture applied in real-time.

Step 6: Fine-tune the Material

Finally, you can fine-tune the material settings to achieve the desired look for your OBJ file. Adjust the specularity, roughness, and other material properties to make your 3D rendering truly stand out.

And there you have it! You've successfully textured your OBJ file in Smode for stunning 3D rendering. Now you can bring your 3D projects to life with realistic and detailed textures.
