How to Export Houdini as OBJ

Sep 28, 2024

Hey everyone, today I'm going to show you how to export your Houdini project as an OBJ file. This is super helpful if you want to share your work with others or collaborate with someone who might not have Houdini. So here's how you do it.

Step 1: Select your geometry

Make sure you have the geometry you want to export selected in the viewport.

Step 2: Go to File > Export > Geometry

Once your geometry is selected, go to the File menu, then hover over Export, and select Geometry. This will open up the export options.

Step 3: Choose OBJ as the file format

In the export options, make sure to select OBJ as the file format. You can also choose the location where you want to save the file.

Step 4: Adjust export settings

You can adjust the export settings such as scale and other parameters depending on your project needs.

Step 5: Click Export

Once you're happy with the export settings, simply click the Export button and your Houdini project will be saved as an OBJ file.

And that's it! You've successfully exported your Houdini project as an OBJ file. Now you can easily share it with others or use it in other 3D software.

I hope this tutorial was helpful for you. If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments. Happy creating!
