How to Save Maya File as OBJ

Sep 28, 2024

Hey everyone, are you struggling to save your Maya file as an OBJ for your 3D modeling projects? Don't worry, I've got you covered with this quick and easy tutorial! Here's how to do it:

Step 1: Open your Maya file that you want to save as an OBJ.

Step 2: Make sure all the objects and materials in your scene are named properly, as this will help you to identify them more easily in the OBJ file.

Step 3: Go to File and select Export Selection. This will bring up the Export Selection window.

Step 4: In the Export Selection window, choose OBJexport from the Files of Type dropdown menu.

Step 5: Select the folder where you want to save the OBJ file and give it a name.

Step 6: Click on the Export All button to save your Maya file as an OBJ.

And that's it! You've successfully saved your Maya file as an OBJ. Now you can use it for 3D modeling or file conversion in other programs.

I hope this tutorial has been helpful for you. If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment below. Happy 3D modeling!
