How to Switch to 3D View in AutoCAD

Sep 30, 2024

To switch to 3D view in AutoCAD, follow these easy steps. First, open the drawing or model you want to view in 3D. Once the drawing is open, navigate to the View tab on the ribbon at the top of the program. In the View tab, you will find the '3D Views' panel. Click on the 'SW Isometric' button to switch to a 3D isometric view. You can also choose from other 3D view options such as 'SE Isometric', 'NE Isometric', 'SW Isometric', etc. These options allow you to view the drawing from different angles. If you want to customize the 3D view further, you can use the ViewCube located in the top right corner of the drawing area. The ViewCube allows you to rotate and orient the view in 3D space. Additionally, you can use the SteeringWheels tool to navigate in 3D. It provides a visual, interactive interface that allows you to pan, zoom, and orbit around your 3D model. By following these simple steps, you can easily switch to 3D view in AutoCAD and start 3D modeling with ease.
