How to Measure in 3D View in Revit

Sep 30, 2024

Hey everyone, today I'm going to show you how to measure in 3D view in Revit! It's super important for your BIM modeling and architecture projects, so let's get started.

1. First, open up your 3D view in Revit. This is where you'll be taking your measurements.

2. Next, go to the 'Analyze' tab on the ribbon and select 'Measure' from the dropdown menu.

3. Now you have three options: Distance, Area, and Angle. Let's start with Distance.

To measure distance, simply click on two points in your 3D view. Revit will show you the distance between the two points in 3D space.

4. To measure an Area, click on three or more points to create a boundary. Revit will calculate the area enclosed by the boundary in 3D.

5. Finally, to measure an Angle, click on three points to define two lines and Revit will display the angle between the two lines in 3D.

And that's it! You've just learned how to measure in 3D view in Revit. It's a super handy tool for checking dimensions and verifying your design in three dimensions.

Don't forget to save your measurements or take screenshots for documentation, and always double-check your measurements to ensure accuracy in your BIM models and architectural designs.

Thanks for watching, and I hope this helps you in your Revit workflows! Happy modeling!
