How to Export Maya Model as OBJ

Sep 30, 2024

Hey everyone! Today I'm going to show you how to export your Maya model as an OBJ file. OBJ is a widely supported 3D model format, making it perfect for sharing and using in various programs. Here's how to do it: Step 1: Open your Maya scene with the model you want to export. Make sure your model is correctly set up and positioned. Step 2: Select the model by clicking on it in the viewport. Step 3: Go to File > Export Selection. In the Export Selection window, choose 'OBJexport' from the Files of Type drop-down menu. Step 4: In the Export Selection window, you can adjust the export settings such as File Type, Selection, and other options. Make sure everything is set up the way you want it. Step 5: Click on the Export button to save your model as an OBJ file. Step 6: Choose a location to save the OBJ file, give it a name, and click on Save. And that's it! You've successfully exported your Maya model as an OBJ file. You can now use this file in other 3D modeling software, game engines, or 3D printing. Remember to check any additional export options and file settings depending on how you plan to use your OBJ file. I hope this tutorial was helpful for you.
