How to Export OBJ from Revit

Oct 03, 2024

Hey everyone, today I'm going to show you how to export OBJ files from Revit so you can use them in your 3D modeling and design projects. OBJ files are great for sharing 3D models and collaborating with others. Here's how to do it:

Step 1: Open your Revit project and navigate to the 3D view that you want to export.

Step 2: Go to the 'File' menu and select 'Export' > 'CAD Formats' > 'OBJ'.

Step 3: In the Export to CAD Format dialog, choose a location to save your OBJ file and give it a name.

Step 4: Click 'Options' to customize the OBJ export settings. You can adjust the scale, units, and other export options to fit your project's needs.

Step 5: Once you're happy with the settings, click 'OK' to close the options dialog.

Step 6: Back in the Export to CAD Format dialog, click 'OK' to start the OBJ export process. Revit will create the OBJ file for you.

And that's it! You've successfully exported an OBJ file from Revit. Now you can use it in your favorite 3D modeling software or share it with others for collaboration. I hope you found this tutorial helpful. Let me know in the comments if you have any questions or if there's anything else you'd like to learn about Revit. Thanks for watching!
