How to Export as OBJ in Maya

Oct 06, 2024

Hey guys, welcome back to another Maya tutorial! Today, I'm going to show you how to export your 3D models as OBJ files in just a few simple steps. Let's get started!

Step 1: Once you have finished modeling and texturing your 3D object, make sure it is selected in the viewport.

Step 2: Go to 'File' in the menu bar and choose 'Export Selection' from the dropdown menu.

Step 3: In the Export Selection window, navigate to the folder where you want to save your OBJ file and give it a name.

Step 4: In the 'Files of type' dropdown menu, choose 'Wavefront OBJ (*.obj)' as the file type.

Step 5: Click the 'Export Selection' button to save your 3D model as an OBJ file.

And that's it! You've successfully exported your 3D model as an OBJ file in Maya. Now you can easily share and use your 3D models in other 3D software. I hope you found this tutorial helpful.
