How to Add 3D View in Google Maps

Oct 08, 2024

Are you ready to take your Google Maps experience to the next level? Adding 3D view to your maps can open up a whole new perspective and enhance your exploration of the world. Here’s how you can do it:

Step 1: Open Google Maps

Open the Google Maps app on your device or visit the Google Maps website on your desktop browser. Sign in to your Google account if you aren't already signed in.

Step 2: Enable 3D View

Once you have Google Maps open, find the location where you want to enable 3D view. You can either search for a specific location or navigate to it manually on the map. Once you're at the desired location, look for the 3D button in the bottom right corner of the screen. It looks like a small cube.

Step 3: Activate 3D View

Click or tap on the 3D button to activate the 3D view for the selected location. Google Maps will then transition into 3D mode, allowing you to explore the area in three dimensions. You can tilt and rotate the map to change your perspective and get a better sense of the topography and structures in the area.

Step 4: Navigate in 3D

Once you're in 3D view, you can use familiar gestures like pinch-to-zoom and swipe to navigate and explore the area. You can also use two fingers to rotate and tilt the map to see different angles and views. Take your time to navigate around and enjoy the immersive 3D experience.

Step 5: Exit 3D View

When you're ready to return to the standard 2D view, simply click or tap on the 3D button again to exit the 3D view mode. Google Maps will transition back to the regular map view, and you can continue using the app as usual.

Adding 3D view to your Google Maps experience can make exploring new places even more exciting and visually engaging. Whether you're planning a trip, scoping out a new neighborhood, or simply curious about the world around you, 3D view can provide a richer and more immersive way to interact with the maps.

So go ahead and give it a try! Enable 3D view on Google Maps and see the world from a whole new perspective.
