Step 1: Open Your Civil 3D Project

First, open your Civil 3D project in the software. You should be in an active drawing or model to be able to rotate the view.

Step 2: Access the 3D View Cube

In the top right corner of the drawing area, you will see the 3D View Cube. This cube allows you to rotate the view of your design in all directions. Click on the edges or the faces of the cube to change the orientation of your view.

Step 3: Use the Navigation Bar

Another way to rotate the view is by using the Navigation Bar. The Navigation Bar is located in the top left corner of the drawing area. Click and hold the View Cube icon to access the navigation options. You can use the Orbit, Pan, and Zoom tools to rotate and navigate around your design.

Step 4: Customize Your View

If you want to customize the rotation angle and direction, you can use the Navigation Bar settings. Click on the arrow next to the View Cube icon to access the options. Here, you can choose between Standard Views, Camera, and Steering Wheel to further customize your view.

Once you have rotated the view to your desired perspective, you can save it for future use. Go to the View tab on the ribbon and click on the View Manager. Here, you can create and save new views or switch between existing ones.
