How to Convert NIF to OBJ

Oct 14, 2024

Are you struggling with importing NIF files into your 3D modeling software? Converting NIF files to OBJ format can make the process much smoother. Here's a quick and easy way to do it using Blender:

Step 1: Install Blender

If you don't already have Blender installed on your computer, go ahead and download it for free from the official website.

Step 2: Import NIF File

Open Blender and go to 'File' > 'Import' > 'NetImmerse/Gamebryo (nif)'. Navigate to the location of your NIF file and select it to import into Blender.

Step 3: Export as OBJ

Once the NIF file is imported, go to 'File' > 'Export' > 'Wavefront (obj)'. Choose the file location and name for your OBJ file, then click 'Export OBJ' to save it.

That's it! You now have an OBJ file that you can easily import into any 3D modeling software for further editing and rendering.

Keep in mind that during the conversion process, some details or properties of the original NIF file may not be fully retained in the OBJ file. Always double-check your converted file to ensure it meets your requirements.

So if you're facing compatibility issues with NIF files, give this method a try and see how it streamlines your 3D modeling workflow. Happy modeling!
