How to Add Text to a 3D Object in Blender

Oct 14, 2024

Hey guys, welcome back to my channel! Today, I'm going to show you how to add text to a 3D object in Blender. It's a super useful skill to have, especially if you're into 3D modeling and texturing. So let's dive right in!

Step 1: Open Blender and import your 3D object. If you don't have a model yet, you can easily create a simple one to practice with.

Step 2: Select the object you want to add the text to and switch to Edit Mode. This will allow you to modify the geometry of the object.

Step 3: Press 'Tab' to enter Edit Mode, then select the face of the object where you want to add the text.

Step 4: Once you've selected the face, press 'Tab' again to exit Edit Mode. Now, go to the 'Add' menu at the bottom of the 3D View and select 'Text'. This will add a new text object to your scene.

Step 5: Position the text object where you want it to appear on the 3D object. You can use the transformation tools to move, rotate, and scale the text to fit your needs.

Step 6: With the text object selected, switch to Edit Mode by pressing 'Tab'. This will allow you to edit the text itself.

Step 7: Start typing your desired text. You can also change the font, size, and other text properties in the Text tab of the Properties panel.

Step 8: Once you're happy with the text, exit Edit Mode by pressing 'Tab' again.

Step 9: To make the text part of the 3D object, you'll need to convert it to a mesh. Select the text object, then go to 'Object' > 'Convert to' > 'Mesh from Text'.

Step 10: Now that the text is a mesh, you can further manipulate it by going back to Edit Mode and using the same tools you would use for any other 3D object.

And that's it! You've successfully added text to a 3D object in Blender. I hope you found this tutorial helpful. If you did, don't forget to like and subscribe for more Blender tutorials. Thanks for watching!
