How to Save a .ipt as a .obj

Oct 14, 2024

Hey everyone, today I'm going to show you how to save a .ipt file as a .obj file using Autodesk Inventor. This process is really helpful if you want to use your 3D models in other software for further editing or rendering. So let's get started!

Step 1: Open your .ipt file in Autodesk Inventor. Make sure your model is all set and ready for exporting.

Step 2: Go to the 'File' menu and select 'Export'. Choose 'Wavefront .obj (*.obj)' as the file type.

Step 3: A dialog box will appear where you can select the settings for the .obj file. You can adjust the options based on your preferences, such as specifying units, mesh refinement, and other export settings.

Step 4: Once you've set everything up, click 'OK' to start the export process. The .obj file will be saved in the location you specify.

And that's it! You've successfully saved your .ipt file as a .obj file. Now you can use it in other 3D modeling software or share it with others. Remember, the .obj format is widely supported across different platforms and software, making it a versatile choice for sharing your 3D models.
