How to Disable Windows 3D View

Oct 15, 2024

If you find the 3D view feature in Windows to be distracting or causing performance issues, you can easily disable it. Here's how you can do it:

1. Right-click on the desktop and select 'Display settings' from the context menu.

2. In the Display settings window, scroll down and click on 'Graphics settings' under the 'Multiple displays' section.

3. In the Graphics settings window, you'll find the option to 'Choose an app to set preference'. Click on it.

4. Now, click on the 'Browse' button and navigate to the location of the app or game for which you want to disable the 3D view.

5. Once you've selected the app, click on 'Options'.

6. In the next window, select the 'Power saving' option and click on 'Save'. This will disable the 3D view for the selected app.

7. If you want to disable the 3D view for all apps and games, you can do so by going back to the Graphics settings window and selecting 'Classic app' or 'Universal app' for all the exe files.

By following these steps, you can effectively turn off the 3D view feature in Windows and enjoy a smoother and distraction-free computing experience. Remember that disabling 3D view may improve performance, especially on lower-end hardware, and reduce visual distractions while using your computer.
