How to See 3D View in Google Maps

Oct 15, 2024

Google Maps is a powerful tool for navigating and exploring the world around us. One of its most exciting features is the ability to view locations in 3D. Here's how you can access the 3D view in Google Maps and make the most of this immersive experience.

To start exploring in 3D, open Google Maps on your desktop or mobile device. Once you have the map open, locate the area you want to explore in 3D. You can search for a specific location or simply browse the map until you find a place of interest.

Once you have the location in view, look for the 3D button in the bottom right corner of the screen. On the desktop version, it looks like a cube. Tap or click on this button to switch to 3D view.

When you enter 3D view, you'll be able to see buildings, landscapes, and terrain in three dimensions. You can rotate and tilt the map to get a better perspective of the area you're exploring. This feature is particularly useful for getting a sense of the elevation and layout of a location.

In addition to the 3D view, Google Maps also offers Street View and satellite view options. Street View allows you to virtually walk through streets and explore areas at ground level. To access Street View, simply drag and drop the little yellow human icon onto the map at the location you want to explore.

For a bird's eye view of the area, you can switch to satellite view. Satellite view provides high-resolution imagery of the location, allowing you to see details such as buildings, landmarks, and natural features from above.

Whether you're planning a trip, scouting out a new neighborhood, or simply curious about a particular location, the 3D view in Google Maps provides a unique and immersive way to explore the world. By combining 3D, Street View, and satellite view, you can gain a comprehensive understanding of a place from different perspectives.

So next time you open Google Maps, take advantage of the 3D view feature and see the world in a whole new dimension!
