How to Save Sketchup to View in 3D

Oct 17, 2024

Hey everyone! Have you ever created a cool 3D model in Sketchup and wanted to share it with others so they can view it in 3D? Well, I've got you covered with a quick tutorial on how to save your Sketchup file for 3D viewing. Let's get started!

Step 1: Once you've finished creating your 3D model in Sketchup, make sure everything is how you want it to be.

Step 2: Next, go to 'File' in the top left corner, and click on 'Save As'. This will allow you to save a copy of your model.

Step 3: In the 'Save As' dialog box, choose where you want to save your file and give it a name that's easy to remember. Then, click on the drop-down menu for 'Format' and select 'KMZ' from the list. This is a format that allows you to view your model in 3D using Google Earth or other 3D viewing software.

Step 4: After selecting the KMZ format, click 'Save' to save your file.

Step 5: Now, you can share your KMZ file with others, and they can open it in 3D viewing software to see your awesome creation from different angles.

That's it! You've successfully saved your Sketchup file for 3D viewing. Now you can show off your work to friends, colleagues, or clients and impress them with your 3D modeling skills. Remember, the key is to make sure your model is well-designed and visually appealing before saving it for 3D viewing. Happy modeling!
