How to Export an OBJ from Blender

Oct 18, 2024

Hey everyone! Today I'm going to show you how to export your 3D models as OBJ files from Blender. It's super easy, so let's get started! First, make sure your model is all set and ready to go. Once you're happy with it, go to File > Export > Wavefront (.obj). Choose a location to save your OBJ file, and then click 'Export OBJ'. Now, here comes the important part. In the export window, you'll see some options like 'Selection Only', 'Objects As OBJ Groups', and 'Write Materials'. Make sure to check or uncheck these options based on your preferences. For example, if you want to export only a specific object, you can check 'Selection Only'. If you want to separate your objects in the OBJ file, check 'Objects As OBJ Groups'. And if you want to include the material information, check 'Write Materials'. Once you're done, click 'Export OBJ' and you're all set! That's it! You've successfully exported your 3D model as an OBJ file from Blender. Now you can use it in other 3D modeling and rendering software. I hope you found this tutorial helpful.
