How to Draw a 3D Side View of a Book

Oct 20, 2024

Hey everyone, today I'm going to show you how to draw a 3D side view of a book! It's a great way to add depth and realism to your drawings. Let's get started!

Step 1: Start by drawing a rectangle for the main body of the book. Make sure it's slightly tilted to give it a 3D perspective.

Step 2: Add two slanted lines on the top and bottom of the rectangle to create the front and back covers of the book.

Step 3: Now, add a smaller rectangle that slightly overlaps the main body of the book. This will be the pages.

Step 4: Draw a diagonal line from the top right corner of the pages to the bottom right corner to create the folded edge of the pages.

Step 5: Add some details like the spine of the book, which is usually thicker than the front and back covers.

Step 6: Next, add some shading to give the book a realistic 3D look. Shade the areas where the light wouldn't hit, like the inner edge of the pages and the sides of the book.

Step 7: Finally, add some fine details like the title and author of the book on the front cover.

And there you have it! A realistic 3D side view of a book. Practice this a few times, and you'll be a pro in no time. Share your drawings with me, and let me know how it goes! #drawingtutorial #3Ddrawing #bookdrawing #arttips
